Eric Dewayne Skaggs, 20, resident of Altus passed away March 9, 2018 in Roosevelt, Oklahoma in the result of a car accident.
Eric was born May 1, 1997 to Bobby Tyrone Skaggs and Anne Patricia Nahrwold in Altus, Oklahoma.
He was an avid fisherman, hunter, that Played baseball, and loved Mudding, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He graduated from Gurdon High School in 2017, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
He dreamed of joining the Air Force and being a firefighter. He was a volunteer firefighter with Gum Springs, Arkansas Fire Department and trained with the Headrick Fire Department.
He was a giving man, who would do anything, whether it be for family, friends, or strangers. Eric always had a smile on his face and had the most caring spirit.
He attended True Life Pentecostal Church and the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ.
He is survived by his fiancée Celia Benivamonde, Maternal grandmother Elizabeth Nahrwold, brother Anthony James Bates, mother Valerie and Ben Bates, father Bobby Skaggs, Paternal grandparents Maternal, Bobby Sr. and Bea Skaggs, uncles Arty Nahrwold, Bobby Nahrwold, Jimmy Light, and John Light, Aunt Patty Light.
Eric was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Author Robert Nahrwold.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel in Altus. Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
