LARRY SKAGGS


Larry Gene Skaggs, age 65, passed away peacefully at his home in Vinson on Saturday, March 24, 2018. He was surrounded by his loving family. Larry will be greatly missed.

He was the son of the late Billy Gene and Clara Gayle (Thurmond) Skaggs of Vinson. Larry is survived by his wife Linda of the home and his daughter Kalinda Brown and her fiance Jennifer Boeker both of San Antonio; one brother, Bobby Skaggs and wife Sharron of Blanchard, Oklahoma; two sisters, Donna Crown of Austin, Texas; and Eva Hammer and husband Jimmy of Canadian, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews; as well as great nieces and nephews; and many beloved pets.

Larry was born in Amarillo, Texas on November 18, 1952. He graduated from the class of 1971 at Mangum High School. He later moved to Houston, Texas to pursue a career in welding. It was there he met and married Linda on March 20, 1981. He returned to the Vinson area in 2006 to work with his brother raising cattle. Larry enjoyed fun at the lake, watching NASCAR and spending time in nature watching wildlife.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Harmon County Funeral Home Chapel in Hollis with Baron Tillman officiating. Interment will follow at Independence Cemetery under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis, Oklahoma.

Memorial donations may be made to the Smile Train or Doctors without Border on behalf of Larry Skaggs.
