Wanda Faye Williams passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Harmon Memorial Hospital.

Wanda Faye Williams was born on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1934, to Bryan and Crystal (McCarty) Nell in Harmon County. She graduated from Ron High School in 1952 and received her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from SWOSU in Weatherford, Oklahoma.

Norman Williams and Wanda Faye Nell were married on August 21, 1954, at the Ron Church of Christ. They shared a wonderful life together for 60 years. Their marriage was blessed with the birth of two sons Kendall and Kevin.

Mrs. Williams' teaching career began in Weatherford where she taught first grade for three years. Wanda then taught at Ron for six years until that school closed in 1964. After Ron School, Wanda Faye began teaching in Hollis and remained there until her retirement in 1990. During her 35-year teaching career, she taught all elementary grades and vocal music, but taught third grade the longest. In 1986, Wanda Faye was recognized as Harmon County Teacher of the Year. Wanda Faye also gave private lessons in piano and vocal, as well as being a Sunday School teacher.

Wanda Faye had a great passion for music and worked with many school students at Ron and Hollis, putting on programs all over the county. One of her greatest thrills was when the Ron 4-H Share the Fun group won the district contest at Lawton two years in a row. Wanda enjoyed reading, grandparenting, crafts, pets, and being with family and friends. Her main hobbies were making greeting cards, scrapbooking for her family, anything having to do with music, needle work, tending to her animals, and going to Branson, Missouri. A big part of Wanda's life was dedicated to her faith, she was a believer in Jesus Christ. She was baptized at the Ron Church of Christ and was a member of the Hollis Church of Christ. In the last few years, she attended the Dodson Church of Christ.

Survivors include her two sons, Kendall (Jana) Williams of Hollis; Kevin (Paula) Williams of Fort Worth, Texas; two grandchildren, Kenton (Kelsey)Williams of Midwest City, OK; McKenzie (Jeremy) Atteberry of Altus, OK and four great-grandchildren, Khloe Galvan, Axel Atteberry, Kenna Faye Williams, and Anslee Atteberry. She is survived by one brother GQ (Donna) Nell of Lubbock, Texas. One sister-in-law Lorene Corbitt of Georgia and numerous nieces and nephews.
