Adam Robert Wootton, age 15, of the Navajo Community, passed away Sunday afternoon, February 14, 2016, near Friendship, Oklahoma as the result of a motor vehicle accident.
Adam was born in Columbia, Missouri, on August 3, 2000, to Angela Margarita Wootton. When Adam was four, he and his mom, Angela moved to Farmington, New Mexico, where he began school. Adam and Angela later moved to Jackson County, and Adam began his fifth grade year at Navajo School. Adam was currently a freshmen at Navajo. Adam enjoyed baseball, hunting, listening to all kinds of music and spending time with his wonderful family.
Adam played third base and pitched for the Navajo baseball team. He was also often the designated hitter. He played on both the junior high and high school teams. Adam loved baseball and thoroughly enjoyed the time he spent with his teammates. He was always there for the underdog and knew how to rally the team when the game got tough. His baseball team enjoyed his sense of humor and respected Adam for his hard work, dedication to the game and positive attitude. His younger teammates admired and looked up to him for his leadership. Not only did Adam have the heart and soul of a fine baseball player, he had the talent too. He had become quite the player and strived to do even better. Adam really did love baseball, but most of all, Adam loved his mom. Adam's life revolved around his mom and baseball. Just mentioning either brought a smile to his face and an unending conversation.
Adam is survived by his loving mother, Angela Wootton, of the home; one aunt, Julia Herrin and husband Brandan of Friendship, and their children, Josie and Braydan; one uncle, Rich Wootton and wife Ashley of Belgium, and their children, Evan, Paytin and A.J.; his grandparents, Mira and Steve Wootton of Farmington, New Mexico; his great grandmother, Evelyn Wootton of Farmington, New Mexico; his special dog named Kat, whose nickname is Suzie, his mentor and baseball coach, Weston Winters and a host of other relatives, teammates, classmates, teachers and many, many friends.
Funeral services for Adam Wootton will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, February 18, 2016, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Erin Martinez officiating. Cremation to follow under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory.
