Obituary for Agnes Bernice Norman
Agnes Bernice (Graumann) Norman was born on May 20, 1929, and passed away at the
Weatherford Regional Hospital on May 10, 2021, at the age of 91 years. Agnes was born and
raised in Granite, Oklahoma, to the daughter of Ferdinand and Hedwig (Hattie) Graumann. She
was raised in the St. John’s Lutheran Church, baptized on June 16, 1929. As a third grader, she
and her family moved to Lamesa, Texas, to operate Graumann Oil Company. She attended
school and was confirmed April 25, 1943, in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She and her family
returned to Granite as she graduated from Granite High School in 1946. She enjoyed helping her
family with cooking, sewing, taking care of her five siblings, and spent time at the family-owned
skating rink in Granite. She also enjoyed the Walther League as her youth church group.
Agnes Graumann married Pete Norman on September 15, 1950, at St. John’s Lutheran
Church in Granite. Agnes was a homemaker, seamstress, gardener and had a love for reading.
Pete and Agnes were very delighted to legally adopt their two daughters: Amy and Stacy at birth
and taught them strong family values, with the most love and respect. Agnes enjoyed sewing
garments for family and friends. She was very proud to sew costumes, clothing, prom dresses, as
well as wedding dresses and bridesmaids' dresses. She was so happy to sew Amy and Stacy’s
wedding dresses. In her spare time, she volunteered at the Granite Library, was very active in her
church, worked part-time at the Granite Drug Store. Other activities include E.S.A., St. John
Lutheran Church Altar Guild, crocheting, knitting, and sewing. Agnes spent her last adventures
at Brookdale Senior Living in Weatherford. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Ferdinand and Hattie Graumann,
husband Pete Norman, son Randy Norman, brothers Leon Graumann and Douglas Graumann,
and her sister Irene French; niece Chantel Graumann and her great-nephew Bradly Jessee.
