Obituary for Albennie Pollard
Mother Albennie Pollard was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost at an early age at the Altus No 1 Church of God in Christ under the Pastorage of Bishop J.B. Hawkin. Sister Pollard also served under the pastorage of Elder H.K. Neal, and was serving faithfully under the Pastorage of Elder M. D. Taylor until he resigned.
She served as the president of Pastor's Aide, Sunday School Teacher, President of the District and served as a member of the State Usher Board of Oklahoma.N.W. COGIC. The late Mother Albeenie Pollard was born December 6, 1905 in Jackson Ville, Texas to Mr. and Mrs Wallace. She is the oldest of two children.
Her mother, father, sister and three children, Marie Cooper, Earnest E. and James Pollard; her husbands Mr. Roosevelt Cooper and Mr. Tom Pollard all preceded her in death.
Sister Pollard married Roosevelt Cooper. To this union three children were born. Marie, Cornelius and Roosevelt Jr. She later married Tom Pollard and to this union eight children were born. Earnest E. Earlene, Doris, Tom Frank, Joy Laverne, Bennie Lee, James and Sharon.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, Mr. Roosevelt Cooper Jr. of Los Angeles, California, Earlene Pollard of Altus, Oklahoma, Cornelius Cooper, Doris Rapley, Tom Frank Pollard, Joy Edwards and husband Curtis, Bennie Lee Pollard and Wife Laverne, and Sharon Grisby all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. One nephew Joe L. Johnson of Ft. Worth, Texas and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services for Albennie Pollard are scheduled for Friday, October 17, 2003 at 2:00 pm in the Lowell-Tims Funeral Hone Chapel with Sonny Tims and Elder B.L. Alexander officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
