Albert George (Butch) Griggs


Albert G. (Butch) Griggs was born on July 23rd, 1920 in Richards, Texas to Willie Griggs and Waxie Raglin. The family moved to Altus, Oklahoma. He graduated from Lincoln School in 1939. He met and later married Willie Mae Shaw in 1941. To this union were born six children. He started working for the Oklahoma Cotton Co0op in 942 and was currently still employed there.

Albert was preceded in death by his mother, father, wife, three brothers, one sister and two children. His favorite saying was "In my Father's house there are many mansions"

Survivors include Joycetta Fulbright of Altus, Oklahoma, Avon Ray Griggs of Norman, Oklahoma, George Griggs of Moore, Oklahoma, Mae Mitchell of Lewisville, Texas five grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Services are scheduled for Saturday, August 7, 1993 at 1:00 P.M. at the Church of God in Christ with Rev B. L. Alexander officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
