Obituary for Alena Mae Hicks
Alena Mae Hicks was born on September 7th, 1902 at Caddo Indian Territory, Oklahoma. She died on August 19, 1990 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus, OK. She was united in marriage to John Hicks on May 6, 1922 at Holdenville, OK. He preceded her in death in 1959.
She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was baptized in Boggy Creek at Caney, OK.
She was confined to Eastern State Hospital from 1940 to 1964. She moved to Altus to live with her sister, Nora Reynolds, who died in 1988.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, Becky York of Altus, Oklahoma, Virginia Stuchell of Mangum, Pete and Earl Reynolds of Blair, OK. Also other nieces and nephews, including, Fran Riche of Austin, TX, Ruby Bjoralt of Lompoc, CA, Eva Bryan of Napa, CA, Lawrence Reynolds of Panama City, FL, Bill Hines of Cloverdale, CA, Burnie and Day Snodgrass of Bartlesville, OK, Roland Hines of Castle Rock, WA, Jerry Hines of Zupela, OK, Bob Hines of Dallas, TX, Dovie Allen and Bernice Goss of Checotah, OK and Wanda Ross of Tecumseh, OK.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, 1990 at the Restlawn Memorial Park officiated by Rev. Bob Maxey and under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
