Obituary for Alfred "A.D." Chandler
Alfred A.D. Chandler, age 90 of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Monday, March 8, 1999 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. He was born September 20, 1908 at Ft. Worth, Texas. Alfred was a lifelong resident of Altus and Jackson County.
He graduated from Lincoln High School and was the oldest living graduate. Alfred was self employed for many years in the Shoe Shine business. He was a longtime member of St. John's Baptist Church.
In 1936 at Altus, Oklahoma Alfred and Jannie Jones were united in marriage. She preceded him in death September 22, 1991.
Funeral service are scheduled for Friday, March 12, 1999 at 2:00 pm at St. John's Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Bostic officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home
Survivors include; two sons; Alvin Chandler and Maurice Chandler both of Altus, Oklahoma, one sister-in-law, Anzella Griffin of Altus, Oklahoma, thirteen grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, and several grea- great grandchildren, and a host of many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother, one sister and a daughter-in-law.
