Obituary for Alfred Leon Adams
Alfred Leon "Bee" Adams, age 70, was born November 6th, 1925, in Altus, Oklahoma, the son of George and Lois (England) Adams, Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Jackson County, attending the Altus schools. He passed away Thursday, January 4th, 1996, in the Jackson County Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 1996, in the Southside Baptist Church with Rev. C.W. Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.

On February 24, 1948, he and Willa Dean Gibson were united in marriage at Vernon, TX. Bee was a retired Water Supervisor for the City of Altus. He was known by his co-workers as "Chief Adams". He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church.

The family will greet friends at the Funeral Home Friday evening, between the hours of 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Adrian Adams, January 1995.

Survivors include: his wife, Willa Dean Adams of the home in Altus; one daughter, Sue Higdon and her husband Bill of Altus, OK; three brothers, George Adams, Jr. of Vernon, TX, Charles Lamb Adams of Lawton OK, and Grady Lynn Adams of Houston, TX; one sister, Audrey Ambrose of Wichita Falls, TX; two granddaughters, Leslie Higdon and Laura Higdon, both of Altus, OK.
