Obituary for Alice Bourland
Mrs. Alice Bourland, age 85, pioneer resident of Jackson County, died Friday at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services have been set for 2:00 P.M., Monday afternoon at Lowell Memorial Chapel, officiated by the Reverend Robert DeMoss. Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery under direction of Lowell Funeral Home.
Born October 1st, 1892 in Des Moines, Iowa, she came as a small child to this area, with her parents, the late John and Elizabeth Brinkman who homesteaded here. She was married at Mangum on December 24, 1915 to the late Ezra Bourland, who died in 1976. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Genevieve Barker of Altus and Mrs. Gerri Garlow of Austin, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Annie Hayes of Hobart; four grandchildren, Mark Garlow, U.S. Air Force Academy, Marsha Barker, student at Oklahoma University, Donna Barker of Altus and Roger Bourland of Great Bend, KS.
