Obituary for Allen Dale Holliday
Allen "Doc" Dale Holliday, age 58, died at his home near Lake Tom steed on Saturday, May 1.
He was a talented photographer, successful businessman, loving father and generous friend.

He served as a ship photographer in the Navy before settling in
Altus to work as a photojournalist for the Altus Times Democrat. In 1967 he opened Allen Holliday Photography, and for 30 years made the graduation portraits of most every Altus High senior as well as photographing weddings and making family portraits of the residents of Jackson County and surrounding communities. He was also known for his inspired views of the Southwest Oklahoma landscape. he was a true artist, winning prestigious state wide awards for creative portraiture and for his photojournalism while at the Altus Times.

He is survived by his devoted daughter, Stacy (Taylor) Holliday of New York, NY: by his sisters Virginia Braughton of Bella Vista, Ark. Aline Roberts of Poteau, OK. and Helen Ficken of Crescent, OK. brothers Jack Holliday of Crescent, Ok. and Fred Holliday of Crescent, Ok. and by loving friends including Polly Holliday of Oklahoma City, Ok and Johnnie Kay Holliday of Cold Springs Ok. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Beulah Holliday.

Graveside services are scheduled for Wednesday, May 5, 1999 at 2:00pm at the Headrick Cemetery. Mr. Holliday will lie in state at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
