Obituary for Alma Mae Lindsey
Alma Mae Lindsey was born in Altus, Oklahoma on December 29, 1933, to the late R.B. and Donnie Bell Willis. To this union she was the eleventh of eleven children.
Nine of her siblings have preceded her in death.
Mother Lindsey was a beautiful mother of seven children and woman of God with a deep love of God. It's this love of God that carried her through the many trials of life. She accepted Christ at the age of fifteen which spanned over fifty years, at the Church of God in Christ #1 under the leadership of the late Pastor Hawkins, the late Pastor Taylor, the late Pastor Archie and the present pastor, Supt. Robert Green of First Church of God in Christ. Alma loved to praise God and if you visited her, you would find her praising God. Here she thrived on bringing the Word of God to her Sunday School class. She was a member of the choir, the Mothers' Board, and Secretary of the YPWW.
Our Heavenly Father called Mother Lindsey home on Friday, November 11, 2005. She leaves to cherish her memories three loving daughters, Dian Johnson of Fort Worth, TX, Mureline Young (Hubert) and Pamela Ray of Altus, Ok; three sons---Ray Conway of Chicago, IL; Michael Lindsey of Washington, D.C. and Jared Lindsey of Germany; one son, Minister Charles Conway, who preceded her in death, one brother Leonard Willis of Altus. Seventeen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of families and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, November 18, from 6:00-8:00 pm
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm. Saturday, November 19, 2005 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home with Reverend Robert Green officiating. Interment will follow at Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
