Obituary for Alpha Myrl Redelsperger
Alpha Myrl (Wade) Redelsperger was born December 13, 1917 in Gould, Oklahoma to John C. and Gurtrue Wade. She passed away April 20, 2002 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Myrl attended Gould Schools, and graduated with the class of 1935. She was a state penmanship champion. She loved to play sports and participated in school basketball, volleyball and softball.
On July 31, 1937 in Gould, Oklahoma, Myrl and Harvey Redelsperger were united in marriage. He preceded her in death February 16, 1995. They farmed some fifty years on a farm south of McQueen, OK. Myrl lived most of her life in the Gould community except for five years in Shafter, California.
Myrl was a member of the Ladies Home Extension and the First Baptist Church in Gould, OK, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was also active in WMU, Spanish Mission work. After retirement in 1985, she and her husband moved to Altus and were members of the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey; daughter, Sandra Sue; grandson, Jim Bob Redelsperger; sister, Inella Warlick; brothers, Harmon, Oscar and Lee Wade.
She is survived by one daughter, Donna Aduddell and husband Kendall of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three sons, Harvey and wife Judy of Hurst, TX, John and wife Karen of Altus, Oklahoma, David and wife Jan of Duncan, Oklahoma; six granddaughters; five grandsons; five great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; two brothers, Leonard Wade of Guymon, Oklahoma and Milton Wade of Raton, New Mexico.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, April 24, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev Boyd Whitehead officiating. Interment will follow in the Gould Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Jim Bob Redelsperger Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund at Western Oklahoma State College in Altus.
