Funeral services for Alva Lee Jones, 81 of Elmer are scheduled for 10:00am Friday, May 21, at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at the Victory Cemetery. Rev. Melvin Moody will officiate. Mr. Jones was born January 6, 1912 in Durwood, Oklahoma to Jessie and Mollissie Welch. On August 18, 1935 Mr. Jones married Eva Witt in Headrick. Mr. Jones worked for the Pepsi and Dr. Pepper distributorships and was a member of the Hess Baptist Church. Lowell-Tims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife Eva Jones of the home; children Joy Clemmons of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Albert Jones and Paulette of Altus, Oklahoma; Penny Jones of Guthrie, Oklahoma; Janey Edwards and Kenneth of Port Rouchon, La.; Myrna Richardson of Seymour, Texas; brothers, John Welch and wife Linnie of Luther, Oklahoma; Raymond Welch and wife Alma of Midwest City, Oklahoma; Jesse Welch of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sister Opal Drake and husband N.V. of Guthrie, Oklahoma; thirteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by a son Alva Jee Jones Jr. parents, grandson Jessie Lee Jones, brothers Leroy, Eugene, and B.J. Welch; two sisters Mary Beckham, and Dora Mae Clark.
