Obituary for Amanda Dee Hubanks
HUBANKS
Amanda “Nanners†Hubanks, age 49 of Elk City and formerly of Dodson, Texas, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Amanda was born in Sayre, Oklahoma on January 12, 1968 to her parents L.D. Stewart and Gayle (Barnett) Richardson. She was raised in Dodson and later worked as a line operator at BTR in Frederick, Oklahoma. She went on to work in the coal yard in Oklaunion, Texas and was also a train conductor for BNSF at Oklaunion, Texas. Amanda had many talents and was a published writer of poetry. She loved the holidays and enjoyed preparing the holiday meal for family gatherings. She was known to be an early Christmas present shopper and most of the time had all gifts ready by early summer. Amanda loved her family and especially her grandchildren where she was lovingly known as “Nannersâ€.
Preceded in death by her father, L.D. Stewart; and her sister, Tammy Stewart; Amanda is survived by her mother Gayle Richardson of Elk City; her sons, Derek Woods and his wife Shacy of Hollis; and Kamdon Woods of Oklahoma City; one brother, Tommy D. Stewart of Montana; three sisters, LaTresa Vincent and her husband Steve of Louisiana; Lori Luck of Dodson, Texas; and Leah Stewart of Cordell, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Drew, Sage, Hensley, Evan, Sevan, Gunnar and River; her special friends, Queenell Davis of Missouri; Frank Garcia of Frederick; Mary Drew; and Tanya Finsterwald.

The family will greet friends at visitation from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Harmon County Funeral Home in Hollis.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Fairmount Cemetery in Hollis with Brother Ron Ledbetter officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis, Oklahoma.
