Obituary for Anna Mendiola Hodges
Anna Mendiola Hodges, 60, resident of Altus, Oklahoma and former resident of Santa Rita, Guam passed away October 11, 2020.
Anna was born in Tamuning, Guam to her parents Gregorio Guerrero Mendiola and Rita Mansapit Mendiola on June 10, 1960. She attended J.P. Torres Elementary School in Santa Rita, Guam, Agat Junior High in Agat, Guam, and George Washington High School in Mangilao, Guam. After completing high school Anna met the love of her life Brent O. Hodges and they were united in marriage on November 23, 1983 in Santa Rita Guam. They were married for 37 years and lived in Guam, California, and Oklahoma together throughout their marriage. Anna was a very hardworking and single-minded individual. With these two personality traits there was nothing she could not accomplish. She was a lifelong Catholic, and her love for the church and in God was apparent in everything she did. Anna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Her family was everything to her and she loved them with a passion that very few could understand.
She is survived by her husband Brent O. Hodges; Carroll O. Hodges (father in law); two sons, Zachary Michael Mendiola and wife Jessica A. Hodges, Jessie Joe John and wife Shelbi LeAnn Tenorio; nine grandchildren, Ocean Daniel Hodges, Oleander Michael Hodges, Chloe Jade Taitano, Cali Joy Taitano, Cayden Zachary Hodges, Avery Lee Tenorio, Orlando James Tenorio, Isaiah Jiovanni Tenorio, Mariah LeAnn Tenorio; Siblings, Jose Mendiola, Jesus Mendiola, Antonio Mendiola and Antonina Tenorio, Francisco Mendiola and Jennifer Santos, Biran Robert Hodges (brother in law); John and Doris Calvo, Santiago and Lourdes Flores, Carmen Bacani, Jeffrey and Frances Dawson, Pete and Rosalie Cepeda, Nameer and Jillynn Youssef; close friends, Melanie DeLos Santos, Itei Paet; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Anna is preceded in death by her parents, Gregorio Guerrero Mendiola and Rita Mansapit Mendiola; Ethelyn Erickson Hodges (mother in law); two brothers, Gregory Mansapit Mendiola Jr., David Mansapit Mendiola; two sisters, Margaret Mansapit Mendiola, and Elizabeth Munoz Mendiola (sister in law).
A private family service will be held before Anna is returned home to Guam.
Services are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
