Obituary for Anne Marie Voit
Anne Marie Voit, (Annie, as she was known to her friends,) 74, of Altus died Saturday, September 10, 2011, at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.
Annie was born Elsie Mae Baker on July 9, 1937, in Evansville, Indiana, to Orlo A. and Flossie May (Parnell) Baker. Annie was one of two children born to this union. She graduated from American High School in Chicago, Illinois, in August of 1955. Annie was a long time resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, and moved to Altus in 2005. She lived the past two years at Tamarack Retirement Center in Altus where she was well-respected and loved by many.
Annie was a truck driver and also held a private pilot's license. She enjoyed flying her own plane. Annie played the guitar and was self-taught. She also painted, enjoyed cooking, and watching safaris on the internet. Annie was a member of the Altus Church of God and passionately loved her church. She was a well rounded person who had a devoted relationship with her God and Jesus. She was so enjoyable to talk to and will be missed by her many friends and church family.
Preceded in death by her parents, her brother, and her husband, Annie is survived by her church family at the Altus Church of God and a host of friends who loved her very much.
Memorial Services for Annie Voit will be held 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at the Church of God, 900 S. Park Lane, Altus, Oklahoma, with Pastor Billy Estep officiating. Lowell-Tims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Church of God at the above address.
