Obituary for Annie Fern Giles
Fern Giles Annie Fern Giles, age 89 of Altus, passed away Tuesday, March 7th, 2000 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. She was born August 29, 1910 at Mansfield, Louisiana to Carroll Carrick Neely and Kletie Inez Ainsworth Neely. Fern has lived in the Altus area since 1957 moving here from Weatherford, Oklahoma. On November 13, 1980 in Vernon, Texas Fern and Morris (Bud) Giles were united in marriage. He preceded her in death April 17, 1998. She was a homemaker and her hobby was spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church. She is survived by two children, Betty Lou Reed and Husband Ray of Martha, Oklahoma, Jerry Cox and wife Jackie of Wichita Falls, Texas: one brother, Ronnie Neely of Kentucky, two sisters, Wilma McBride of Edgewood, Texas, Marilyn Leonard of Kentucky: ten Grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bud Giles, one daughter, Joyce Stauffer. Funeral Services are scheduled for Thursday, March 9, 2000 at 10:00 AM at the Tabernacle Baptist Church with Rev David Chittenden officiating. Internment will follow in the Altus City cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
