Obituary for Annuel Bearachie Gooldby
Annuel Bearchie Goolsby, age 93, longtime Warren resident, passed away Friday, December 21, 2001 in Altus. He was born March 8, 1908 in Leak County, Mississippi to J. Walter and Mandy J. (Sanders) Goolsby.
On February 22, 1935 in Blair, Oklahoma Annuel and Lorrayne Portwood were united in marriage. She preceded him in death in 1981. On November 21,1981 Annuel and Velma Roberson were united in marriage. she preceded him in death August 19, 1993.
Annuel was a wheat, peanut and poultry farmer in the Warren Community for many years. He was an elder and bible school teacher at the Warren Church of Christ. After retirement Annuel enjoyed fishing and playing dominoes with his friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by two sons, James R. Goolsby and wife, Greta, of Weatherford, Texas and Walter Harrison Goolsby of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, two step-sons, Buddy Roberson and R.D. "Red" Roberson and wife, Wanda, both of Altus, Oklahoma. He is also survived by five grandchildren; Tommy Goolsby of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Ryan Goolsby of Abilene, Texas, Janee Reeder and husband, Bart, of Dallas, Texas, Josh Goolsby of Los Angeles, California, and Brent Goolsby who is on active duty in the United States Army, two brothers, Melvin Goolsby and wife, Almeta, of Roswell, New Mexico, Alton Goolsby and wife, Pat of Ft. Worth, Texas, two sisters; Thelma Payne of Midland, Texas, and Martha Biddy and husband, Early, of Altus, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Lorrayne, and second wife, Velma, one son, Fred Goolsby, one brother, Dewey Goolsby, one sister, Ruby Tidwell, an infant sister, and one grandson, Tyson Goolsby.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, December 27, 2001 at 10:00am in the warren Church of Christ with Charles Waugh and Ardron Hinton officiating. Interment will follow in the Warren Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
