Obituary for Arllie May Bryant
Arllie May Bryant Arllie May Bryant, 93, died at Grace Living Center in Altus on Sunday, September 23, 2000. Funeral Service are scheduled for Wednesday, September 27, 2000 at 10:00 AM in the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ralph Chapman officiating. Interment will follow in the Olustee Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home. Mrs. Bryant was born on January 20, 1970 to Walter and Mattie Compton Ellis, in Bonham, Texas. In December 1916 she moved with her family to Jackson County, Oklahoma where she has lived most of the time. She attended school in Olustee, Prairie Home, Plainview and Ozark. She and Norm H. Lindsey were married on January 18, 1925. She was saved in a summer revival in l924 at Carmel Baptist Church near Olustee. She was an active member of Tabernacle Baptist Church until her health failed. In l953 she married Son Bryant. He passed away April 9 1965. Mrs. Bryant was a charter member of AARP in Altus. She has had many hobbies during her life. She loved her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter, Norma in 1943. Also a brother Hollie Ellis and sister Callie Miller and granddaughter Patricia Ann Hamilton. Local Survivors include, daughter, Norene Hamilton, two grandsons, Troy Hamilton and Roy Hamilton and wife Denise, two granddaughters, Debi Tahbonemah and husband Phil all of Lawton, Oklahoma, Betty Lyles and husband Scott of England, formerly of Lawton, Oklahoma: other survivors include one son, Harold Lindsey of Garland, Texas, two daughters, Florene Brewer and husband Howard of Altus, Oklahoma and Marilyn Wooley of Garland, Texas, stepdaughter, Sylvia Colonello of Escondido, California and stepson G. L. Bryant of LaQuinta, California also nine grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, four step grandchildren, twelve step great grandchildren and five great , great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother Jeff Ellis of Tucumcari, New Mexico, three sisters, Pearllie Powers, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Nellie Hudson of Riverside, California and Annie Coward of Mena, Arkansas, and a host of other relatives and friends. ***Family will have visitation Tuesday evening September 26, 2000 from 6-8 PM at Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
