Obituary for Arthur Gad Hughes
Funeral Service for Arthur Gad Hughes, age 75, of Blair, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, July 27, 1992 at the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home in Chickasha, OK. Chaplin John Gober, USAF, Tinker AFB, OK, will officiate.
Arthur Gad Hughes was born April 11, 1917 at Ninnekah, Oklahoma. He was the son of Robert Lee and Amelia Hughes. He died Friday, July 24, 1992 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He married Beulah Leona Logue on August 27, 1938 at Pauls Valley, OK. After a couple of years working on a farm in Bradley, OK, he entered the Army Air Corps February 22, 1942. Mr. Hughes retired from the United States Air Force April 30, 1967. After his retirement he settled in the Altus, Blair area of Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; three brothers, Charley, Jack and Monroe; one sister, Ethel; one daughter, Betty Sue; one granddaughter, Amy and one grandson, Dale.
Survivors include: his wife, Leona of the home in Blair, Oklahoma; two sons, Bobby Hughes of Austin, TX and Melvin Hughes of Chickasha, OK; three daughters, Sandra Terkelson of Ogden, Utah, Linda Eisenbeck of Austin, TX and Margaret Busby of Frederick, OK; one adopted daughter, Elizabeth McCregor of Blair, OK; four brothers, Rolf Hughes of San Jose, CA, Sidney Hughes of Lindsay, OK, Guy Hughes of Alex, OK and Roy Hughes of Konowa, OK; three sisters, Sarah Smith of Norman, OK, Thelma Pippin of Lee, MA, Hazel Saxon of Roseburg, OR; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in the Ninnekah Cemetery, Ninnekah, Oklahoma, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
