Audeanne Evelyn Schneider, age 83, known to all as Deanne, died in Houston, Texas on August 20, 2013. She was born July 25, 1930 in Eldorado, Oklahoma to Kenneth and Lucille Violet (Leathwood) Wise. A proud Panther, she graduated Eldorado High School in 1948, before moving to Houston, where she met and married Ralph Lee Schneider, who had been born in Eldorado. Divorced in 1973, Deanne never remarried.
Deanne had a long career as a secretary beginning in the late 1950"s at the National Association of Corrosion Engineers in Houston. She worked at Texas A & M University in several departments after the family moved to College Station, Texas. She returned to live and work in Houston following her divorce, eventually moving to the country near Lake Somerville, Texas. She returned to work on the campus at Texas A & M until she retired in 1992. One of Deanne"s proudest accomplishments was building her own house in the country, with some advice and occasional assistance from a friend and neighbor who was a retired carpenter. She remained in the house until returning to Houston in 2011 to enter assisted living.
She is preceded in death by her parents and former husband. She is survived by her sister, who is her only sibling, Shirley Pradt and husband Charles Pradt of Pasadena, Texas; her two sons, Kenneth Howard Schneider of Houston and Charles Lee Schneider of Pleasanton, Texas; Kenneth"s wife Mary Nell Harvey and their daughters, and her only grandchildren, Megan Reiney Schneider and Rebecca Louise Schneider; and by her nieces Dianne (Pradt) Singletary and Rebecca Pradt and nephew Gregory Pradt and their spouses and children.
Graveside services for Audeanne Evelyn Schneider will be at 10 a.m., Friday, August 23, 2013, at the Eldorado Cemetery with Pastor Pete Wylie officiating. Services are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Eldorado.
