Obituary for Barbarah Ann Glenn
Barbarah Ann Glenn, 67, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, April 26, 2012, in Altus after a long illness.
Barbarah was born in McCurtain, Oklahoma, on September 9, 1944, and was one of eight children. She graduated from Southside High School in Hess, Oklahoma, in 1962. Barbarah was raised in Oklahoma where she grew up happily with her parents, Earl and Ella (Derryberry) Palmore, and her seven siblings.
Barbarah was employed at Kellwood Manufacturing for over 15 years and then went to work for the American Home Center in Altus as an Assistant Office Manager for 28 years. She married Donald "Jody" Glenn on February 15, 1963, at the Methodist Church in Elmer, Oklahoma. She loved to shop, decorate, and talk on the phone. She adored her family, especially playing with her grandchildren.
Barbarah is survived by her husband Jody Glenn of Altus, Oklahoma, her two sons Randy Glenn and wife Genia, and Todd Glenn and wife Misty of Altus, Oklahoma; one sister, Beverly Shaffer and husband Darrold of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; one brother, Larry Palmore and wife Bonita of Altus, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Shannon Dunn and husband Justin, Jessica Glenn, Kaileigh Pogue, Anna Beth Pogue, Kanyon Weldon, Karson Weldon, and Kreed Weldon; sisters-in-law, Kay Glenn and Sherry Finley; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends who will miss her.
Barbarah was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Ella Palmore, four brothers, Jerl, Drew, Charles, and Gary Palmore; her sister, Margorie Cherry; brother-in-law Randall Cherry, and twin baby boys, Kenneth and Kevin Glenn.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 29, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Funeral Services for Barbarah Ann Glenn will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2012, at Lowell-Tims Chapel in Altus with Margie Van Oostrum officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
