Bernice Marie Lewis, age 77, of Lueders, Texas and formerly of Altus, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2007, in the Abilene, Texas Regional Hospital.
Bernice was born on June 11, 1930, to Henry and Sally (Flannigan) Green in Marshsll, Texas. After attending school in Karens, Texas, she moved several places before moving to Altus in the early 1990's. Shortly after her move to Altus, she met and married Wallace Lewis. After his death in 2000, Bernice moved to Lueders, Texas to be near her family. Fishing, sewing and cooking were things that she enjoyed. but worshiping God was the most important thing in her life.
Preceded in death by her parents and husband, she is survived by two sisters, Ethel Armstrong of Altus and Ruth Hill of Lueders, Texas; two brothers, Lawerance Elem of Lancaster, Texas and Nathaniel Lewis of Dallas, Texas along with many nieces, nephews cousins, other relatiaves and a host of friends.
Funeral services for Bernice Lewis will be at 2 pm, Thursday, October 18, 2007, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Richard Atkinson officiating. Interment will follow at ther Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.
