Obituary for Betty Alice Russell
Betty Alice Russell,82, resident of Tipton, passed away on January 8, 2022 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus, Oklahoma.

Betty was born in Ava, Illinois on September 29, 1939, to her parents, James L. Wayland and Addie Louise ( Pulcher) Wayland. She grew up in Illinois and graduated from Columbia High school. In February of 1985, Betty married Ronnie Houston Russell in Altus, OK. Their union spanned 36 years.

Betty was employed as a care specialist at Grace Daycare. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing and knitting. Her presence will be missed by all who knew her.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, James and Addie Wayland; her brother, Billie Amel Wayland; and a brother-in-law, Bob Mesnarich.

She is survived by her son, Kevin William Reichert; her daughter, Sandra Denise (Reichert) Dowding; her step-children: Shawn Russell and Shera Pratt; three brothers: Jack Wayland, Ron Wayland and Don Wayland; two sisters: Joann Byerly and Iva Jean Mesnarich; her grandchildren: Leslie Brough (William); Kerry Dowding; Joy Dawn Weathers (Michael); Jodi Wade (David); Jaime Reichert; Julie Reichert; and Houston Dean; her great-grandchildren: Shaily Dudley, Cruz Lopez, Sydney Lopez, Donivah Collins and Leah Wade; two great-great grandchildren: Marley Lopez and Levi Dudley; as well as a host of other relatives, in-laws and friends.

The family has entrusted services to the care of Lowell- Tims Funeral Home & Crematory in Altus.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
