Betty Liesemeyer, age 56 of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.
Betty was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 21, 1959 to her parents George and Marianna (McGuire) Burelson. Betty grew up in Big Bear Lake, California where she graduated class of 1978 from Big Bear High School. Shortly after high school she married the love of her life Steve Liesemeyer on September 15, 1979 in Big Bear Lake, California and they enjoyed over 36 years of marriage. As a young Air Force military family they lived in Rome, New York, San Bernardino, California, and finally at Altus Air Force Base where they have lived since 1991. Betty was the store manager at the Stage Department Store in Altus and she enjoyed working on her home but above all else she loved her family and treasured time spent with her grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, Betty is survived by her husband Steve of the home; her two daughters, Jennifer Simmons and husband Shane of Iowa Park, Texas and Amy Hefley and husband Eric of Olustee, Oklahoma; one brother, Richard Hogan and wife Joanne of Missouri; one sister, Sandra Jean Knickman of Missouri; two grandchildren, Zoe and Grayson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.
Celebration of Life services will be 2:00 pm, Friday, March 25, 2016 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel in Altus.
