Billy J. Russell, 66 of Altus died Monday, February 15, 1999 at Jackson /County Memorial Hospital. Services are scheduled for Friday, February 19, 1999 at 1:00PM at Lowell-Tims
Funeral Home chapel with Bro. T.J. Willingham officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Billy was born December 9, 1932 at the home of the Late J.B. "Ben" and Hattie E. (Williams) Russell N.W. of Altus. He attended the Martha school and lived most of his life in Jackson County. He was a retired truck driver for South West Sand and Gravel of Altus. Billy was a member of the Victory Baptist Church.
Survivors include one step-daughter, Kay Gifford and husband, David of Altus; two brothers, James Turner of Bennett, Colorado, and Herbert Wayne Russell of Copperas Grove Texas; two sisters Joye Faye Leonard and husband, Larry of Altus, Oklahoma, and Bennie May Palmer of Altus, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Kayla, Tracy, Brenda and Charles Gifford and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, J.B. Russell, Jr. and one nephew, Jimmy Turner.
