Obituary for Blanche Opal Marecek
Blanche Opal Garrison Marecek, 75, of Altus, died at home, Sunday, May 30 1999. Funeral Services are set for 2:00pm Wednesday at Lowell-Tims Chapel, with Revs. Alvin Garrison and Roy Black officiating. Burial will be at Altus City Cemetery.
Blanche was born October 16, 1923 in Eldorado, Oklahoma to Howard Charlie Garrison and Flora Opal Black Garrison. She attended Porter High School and graduated from Ponca City high School in 1941. Blanche married Steve James Marecek Jr., December 21, 1957.
Blanche was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Order of The Eastern Star, Chapter 49, of Altus. Blanche worked in sales for many years, and retired from Wilson's Department store, in 1974.
Blanche is survived by her husband Steve: 4 sons, Gerald and Debbie of Wichita, KS, Steve and Lois, of Tucson, AZ., Gawain and Karmen of Robertsville, MO. and Bill and Gloria of Fontana, CA; brother Carl and Mary Francis of Lake Kiowa, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Cara, Matt, Paul, Steven and Eric; great-granddaughter, Tiana; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Doris Faye Brown.
The family will have visitation Tuesday evening from 5:00to 6:30 pm at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
