Bobby "Craig" Kastner, 73, of Altus passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at English Village Manor in Altus. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday December 14, 2013 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery.
"Craig" Kastner was born on January 22, 1940 to Carlus and Darlene (Shield) Kastner in Altus. He resided in Altus all of his life attending school at Eugene Field, Central Junior High and graduating from Altus High School in 1958 and Altus Junior College. He married Ellen West on June 2, 1961 in Altus. To this union two children were born, Tracie and Kristi. Craig loved to hunt and fish all of his life. He was a Mail Carrier for the United States Postal Service for 29 years before retiring in 1990. Craig was a member of the First Baptist Church in Altus where he served as a young adult teacher, a youth teacher, a deacon and an usher until his health declined.
Craig was preceded in death by his parents Carlus and Darlene Kastner, and son-in-law Larry Benedict.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen of the home; daughters, Tracie Benedict of Altus and Kristi and husband Harold Anderson, of Lawton; three grandchildren Vanessa Cole of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Emily Cole of Edmond, Oklahoma; and Trey and Whitney Graham of Wake Forest, North Carolina. He is also survived by sisters, Carla Anderson of Midwest City, Oklahoma; Cathy Carter and husband Darrell of Longview, Texas; brothers Curt and wife Rebecca Kastner of Manhattan, Kansas; Chris and wife Karon Kastner of Cordell, Oklahoma; and Clint Kastner of Austin, Texas. He is also survived by sister-in-laws, Carole Taylor of Ketchikan, Alaska and Kaye West of Mesa, Arizona and a host nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will greet friends Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. " 8:00 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Altus Building Fund.
