Obituary for Bobby Jones
Bobby Gene Jones, age 72 of Altus, Oklahoma died Tuesday, January 30, 2001 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. He was born April 1, 1928 in Tipton, Oklahoma to J.C. and Bernice (Herring) Jones. Bobby lived in Tipton for many years. After graduating high school at Tipton, he served with the United States Army. Bobby farmed and worked for Mt. Scott Foods and Randy's Meat Company as a salesman. He had lived in Altus since 1975 moving here from Tipton, Oklahoma. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Altus.
He is survived by his wife June Jones of the home in Altus, Oklahoma, two sons; Steven G. Jones and wife Cindy of Claremore, Oklahoma, Jimmy C. Jones and his wife Laura of Atlanta, Georgia, two sisters, Pauline Gober of Frederick, Oklahoma, Louise west of Granite, Oklahoma, three step-children, Kelly Johnson, Mitch McKee and Scott MeKee. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, February 2, 2001 at 2:00pm in the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Wiginton and Sonny Tims officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
