Bonnie "Frances" Rasco, age 76, of Altus, passed away early Sunday morning, April 5, 2015, at her residence, in Altus, with her family and friends by her side.
Mrs. Rasco was born in Burlington, Iowa on January 29, 1939, to Gerald David and Bonnie (Calhoun) Donaldson. Growing up in California with her mother, Frances worked in her mother"s restaurant while they lived in an apartment above the local funeral home. After graduating from Poly High School in Riverside, California she married Dick Terry Rasco on June 14, 1959, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Due to Terry"s job with the United States Army, the family lived in many different places over the years. Moving to Altus in 1992, Frances began working at Ye Old Donut Shop and continued there for many years. In her spare time she loved quilting and quilted hundreds of quilts for St. Jude"s Hospital over the years. Frances also enjoyed cooking, sewing, shopping for antiques and making her famous strawberry cookies. Her family and dogs were her life.
Preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Pauline Cummings and Dottie Blake; one brother, Delmar Donaldson and one grandson, Raymond Barnes III, she is survived by her husband, Terry Rasco, of Altus; six children, Sharee Walker and husband Dean of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, Connie North and husband Charlie of Altus, Donna Barnes and T.J. Jones of Hesperia, California, Scott Rasco of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, Carol Struble and Todd O"neill of Altus and Karen Richeson and Jason Mantzke of Altus; nineteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; two very special friends, Camilla Jackson and Trina Carson along with many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services for Bonnie Frances Rasco will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 9, 2015, with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Cremation services have been entrusted to Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory.
