Bonnie Jean Sheward, age 57, of Mangum, passed away, at her home, Thursday, March 4, 2009.

Bonnie was born on May 13, 1952, in Mangum, to Floyd and Lyla (Cummings) Rogers. As a young child, she moved to Elk City and later moved to El Reno in 1958, where she attended high school. Moving back to Mangum in 1969, Bonnie began a career in nursing and later became an LPN after completing school, in Altus. On July 12, 1990, she married Tommy Sheward, in Mangum. Bonnie was a loving person who enjoyed crocheting, working in her rose garden, her cats, but especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her father, one brother, Lavone Rogers and one son, Jeromey, she is survived by her husband, Tommy of the home; her mother, Lyla Elliott of Stillwater; four children, Shannon Struck of Mangum, Shannon Newcomer and husband Matt of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Sunni Struck and Bobby Evans of Altus and Amanda Sheward of Denver, Colorado; three sisters, Brenda Soderling and husband Steve of Perkins, Diane Cox and husband Buddy of Brady, Texas and Donna Wilson and husband Pete of Brady, Texas; two brothers, Wayne Elliott and wife Lisa of El Reno, Oklahoma and Robert Elliott and wife Linda of Fremont, Nebraska; her step-mother, Earlene Rogers of Brady, Texas; thirteen grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Memorial services for Bonnie Sheward will be held at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at the New Beginnings Church with Pastor Shawn Laughlin officiating. Greer Funeral Home of Mangum is in charge of arrangements.
