Obituary for Brady Shaw
Brady Shaw, 59, of Altus, passed away at his home on Thursday, March 22, 2012.
Brady was born March 22, 1953, in Altus, Oklahoma, to Willie and Gladys (Washington) Shaw. He graduated from Altus High School in 1971 and joined the United States Army shortly thereafter. He served his country in the Vietnam War from July 1971 to June of 1973. Brady remained in the Army after the Vietnam War ended and was discharged February 3, 1975. He returned to Altus and earned his Associate's Degree at Western Oklahoma State College. He also attended Rose State College in Midwest City and OSU Technical School in Oklahoma City. Brady worked as a City Planner for the City of Oklahoma City from 1979 to 1986. He moved his family back to Altus where he continued his work as a City Planner for the City of Altus from 1986 to 1999.
Preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charles Shaw, Brady is survived by two daughters, LaShaun Shaw of McKinney, Texas, and Brandy Shaw-Brown and husband David of Lawton, Oklahoma; two brothers, Roger Shaw of Altus and Willie Shaw, Jr. of Sayre, Oklahoma; two sisters, Sherry Shaw of Midwest City and Angela Shaw of Amarillo, Texas; three grandchildren, Brandon Allen Shaw, Micaelyn Tiara Brown, and Sedric Damien Jones; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends who will miss him and will remain in his loving family's memories.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Funeral Services for Brady Shaw will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at Lowell-Tims Chapel. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.
