Brian Keith Ditmore, age 37, of Mangum, passed away Thursday afternoon, November 26, 2009. Funeral services are pending with Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
Brian was born on September 15, 1972, in Vernon, Texas to Roy Ditmore and Faye Hopkins Ditmore. At a young age, Brian moved, with his family, to Cordell where they lived for several years. The family later moved to several different Texas and Oklahoma locations with Roy’s employment with Osbornes Distributing. After graduating from Vernon High School in 1990, Brian worked for Vernon State Hospital and later worked for the Texas Department of Corrections for eight years. On April 10, 1995, Brian married Freda Patlan. In September 2007, Brian began working as a patrolman for the Mangum Police Department where he served until his death. In his spare time, Brian enjoyed hunting arrowheads, working with wood and target practicing with his three sons.
Preceded in death by his grandparents, Brian is survived by his wife, Freda; four children, Heather Moore and husband Justin of Anchorage, Alaska; Booger Ditmore, Brice Ditmore and Brandon Ditmore, all of the home; his mother, Fay Elrod and husband Billy of Oklaunion, Texas; his father, Roy Ditmore and wife Liz of Altus, Oklahoma; one brother, Ron Ditmore and wife Theresa of Vernon, Texas; one step-brother, Chris Ditmore of Altus along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many, many friends.
Funeral services for Brian Ditmore will be at 2 p.m., Monday, November 30, 2009, at The Church Triumphant with Pastor James Callins and Pastor Shawn Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
The family will greet friends from 5 until 6 p.m., on Sunday, November 29, 2009, at Greer Funeral Home.
