Obituary for Bulah Lee Parker
Bulah Lee Parker, age 95, passed away at her home, northeast of Altus on December 31, 2004. Funeral Services will be Monday, January 3, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Friendship Baptist Church with reverend Madison Clinton officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery with Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Bulah was born south of Olustee, Oklahoma to J.D. and Callie Drury. She married Henry Grady Parker in Olustee in 1927. They lived in the Olustee community until 1954 when they bought their farm northeast of Altus. Grady and Bulah were married 76 wonderful years before his death on May 19, 2004. Bulah was a homemaker and worked for Altus Public Schools as a cook for many years. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, playing cards and dominoes with her family. Bulah was a loving grandmother, mother and sister who dearly loved her family and was a longtime member of the Friendship Baptist Church.
Bulah was preceded in death by7 her husband, Grady; a son, Wilton Parker; a daughter, Myrna Wrabel; seven brothers; a granddaughter Rhonda Price and a great-granddaughter Michelle Cook.
Bulah is survived by her grandchildren, Danny Thompson, David Butterbaugh, Barbaraq Baartman. Sally George and Elizabeth McQuistion of Altus, Oklahoma; Jimmy Butterbaugh of Arlington, Texas; Billy Cook of Houston, Texas; Janet Allen of San Antonio, Texas; Roberta Enright of Midwest City, Oklahoma; Margaret Disney of Dallas, Texas; Robbie LaMunyon of Olustee, Oklahoma; and Mary Smith; twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Iva Hatton of Altus, Oklahoma and Lela Smalling of Stephenville, Texas.
The family of Bulah Parker will greet friends Sunday evening, January 2, 2005 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
