Bun Byrd age 89, of Altus, Oklahoma died June 6, 1969 at Memorial Hospital, in
Altus. He was born October 27, 1879 to Samuel L. Byrd in Wise County, Texas. He operated Confectionary in Altus for many years. He had been a resident of southwest Oklahoma since 1919.
Funeral services are scheduled for Bun Byrd at 2:30 pm June 8, 1969 at Tims Chapel, Altus, officiated by Rev. Lonzo Battles and Rev. C. David Matthews. Burial will follow in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
Bun Byrd is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Riley Starr, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Miss Hazel Byrd, Brownsville, Texas; three sons, Roy Byrd, port Isabel, Texas; Sam Byrd, Sherman, Texas; Mike Byrd. Altus, Oklahoma; one brother, Marvin Byrd, Elk City, Oklahoma; three half-sisters, Mrs. Harry Harris, Eustis, Florida; Mrs. Bill Waltz, Miami, Florida; Mrs. Bess Wells, Miami, Florida; fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren.
