Obituary for Burns Dudley Thompson
Mr. Burns Dudley Thompson, age 72, of Altus, OK, died Monday, June 17th, 1968 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 20, 1968, Tabernacle Baptist Church, 2:00 P.M., with the Reverend Tyrone Herring officiating. Burial will be in the Altus City Cemetery under direction of Tims Funeral Home.
Mr. Thompson was married to the former Minnie Arlee Hatfield December 23, 1923. He was a Veteran of WWI. He belonged to the American Legion and the V.F.W. He was a member of the Methodist Church and had lived in this community since 1952.
He is survived by: his wife of the home; five daughters, Mrs. Al Martin of Dumas, TX, Mrs. Ruby Smith of Altus, OK, Mrs. Joe Kidd of Dayton, OH, Mrs. Bennie Dollar of Altus and Miss Shawnna Sue Thompson of the home; four sons, Maywood of Beaumont, TX, Donald of Viet Nam, Jimmy of the home and Kenney of Beaumont, TX; 14 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Tankersley of Cross Plain, TX, Mrs. Nora McGee of Tulare, CA and Mrs. Carrie Eskridge of Springdale, AR.
