Obituary for Carl Francis Law
Carl F. Law passed away January 31, 2002 in the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 2, 2002 in the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Osborne officiating and Bob Maxey assisting. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
Carl was born September 15, 1934 in Valdosta, Georgia to Neil and Tinie Lee (Boyd) Law. He grew up in Madison, Florida where he graduated from High School. Carl entered the Air Force and established himself as an excellent Law Enforcement Officer and where he served his country for over 20 years. Carl met and married Nelta (Kelley) in Altus, Oklahoma on December 29, 1961. To this union was born three sons and one daughter. Carl served as Asst Chief of Police in Mangum and under several administrations at the Jackson County Sherriff's Office. He worked last as a Security Officer at the First National Bank in Altus. He and his family are longtime residents of Altus and they attended the First Baptist Church. He was active in sports and enjoyed bowling and coaching his Little League Team in American Legion Baseball.
He is preceded in death by his parents and precious grandson, John Mark Pierce.
He is survived by his wife, Nelta of the home in Altus, Oklahoma; three sons, Kevin Law of Hess, Oklahoma, Mike Law of Altus, Oklahoma and Robert Law of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Debbie Freeze of Altus, Oklahoma; one brother, Clifford Law of Madison, Florida; seven grandchildren, Kyle Law, Karissa Law, Melissa Law, Micah Law, Jordan Law, all of Altus, Oklahoma and Brandle Law and Dustin Law of Edmond, Oklahoma; two great-grandchildren, Michael Law and Mason Law; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the Heart and Lung Foundation.
