Obituary for Carol Ann McElroy
Carol Ann McElroy, age 69 of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, September 21, 2020 at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Carol was born June 17, 1951 in Altus, Oklahoma to Fred McElroy and Betty (Spears) McElroy. She was a graduate of Altus High School, Western Oklahoma State College, and The University of Central Oklahoma.
Carol was a dedicated OU and Notre Dame fan. She enjoyed walking, going to museums, reading books, doing church work, and watching OU sports.
In recent years Carol was a substitute teacher. She was a longtime member of the St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Altus where she served on the vestry for two terms and volunteered as an usher.
She is survived by her sister, Mary R. McElroy of Oklahoma City, two nieces, Katy McElroy of Pflugerville, Texas; and Lisa McElroy of Oklahoma City; two great nieces, Charlotte Baker and Francine Baker; as well as other family members and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Monty McElroy.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, September 25, 2020 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Altus, Oklahoma with Reverend Suzanne Mollison officiating.
In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to the Western Oklahoma State College (WOSC) Scholarship Foundation; the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation; or to St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Altus, Oklahoma in memory of Carol A. McElroy.
