Obituary for Catherine Chambers
Catherine Chambers, 70, of Altus, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 25, 2017, at Plantation Village Nursing Center, in Altus.
Mrs. Chambers was born in Plainview, Indiana on December 10, 1946, to Joseph and Goldie Carrol. Catherine grew up and graduated high school in Plainview. In 1968, she and her husband, moved to Altus, when he was transferred to Altus Air Force Base. Catherine first worked at TG & Y, the Red River Federal Credit Union and for several years at Home Health Products until her health began to fail. In her spare time she enjoyed being with her grandchildren, traveling when possible and spending time at her church, Altus First Baptist Church. She spent many years in the T.V. Ministry and Prayer Ministry as well as her Sunday School class there.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest "Dumas" Chambers, in 2000 and a grandson, Rhyder Munday Chambers, she is survived by three sons, Jeffrey Michael McBride of Austin, Texas, Christopher E. Chambers of Amarillo, Texas and Erin Russell Chambers and wife Sara of Altus; four grandchildren, Lance Simpson of Herne, Texas, Kaden Tomberlin Chambers of Amarillo, Texas, Kynlee Renee Chambers of Altus and Kendal Jameson Chambers of Altus; one brother, Lonnie Williams and wife Klara of Universal City, Texas along with many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services for Catherine Chambers will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Doug Altom officiating.
