Obituary for Catherine L. Spradlin
Mrs. Catherine L. Spradlin, age 86, and long time resident of the Eldorado community, died yesterday at 3:15 in Quanah Hospital, following a stroke suffered on Sunday.
Born January 25th, 1884 in Boskie County, Texas, she had been a long time resident of the Corinth community where she and her Husband were engaged in ranching and farming until retirement. Her husband, James R., died in April 1969. She was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church.
Funeral services have been set for 2:00 P.M., Friday at the Corinth Baptist Church, officiated by the Reverend Hoyt Ellis. Burial will be in Eldorado Cemetery under direction of Lowell Funeral Home. The body will lie in state at Lowell Funeral Home in Altus until 10:00 A.M. Thursday then to Lowell-Richardson Memorial Chapel in Eldorado.
Survivors include: six sons, Leslie and J.R., Jr., of Eldorado, E. J. of Arlington, TX, Wayne of Pueblo, CO, Aubrey of Harlingen, TX and Carter of Quanah, TX; three daughters, Mrs. Bonnie White and Madalene Thompson of Eldorado and Mrs. Olene King of Grandfield; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, John Fellers of Iowa Park, TX; two sisters, Mrs. Eunice Coleman of Olton, TX and Mrs. Georgia Duckworth of Abilene, TX; a number of nieces and nephews.
