Obituary for Charles E. Moore
Stanley E. Moore, age 77, of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, January 21, 1997, after a lengthy illness.
On September 22, 1919, God blessed Charles E. and Stella Moore. His childhood was spent in New Orleans. At 20 years of age, he joined the Army Air Corp and trained at Midland Air Force Base in Midland, Texas. He later served with the United States Army and retired from Civil Service at the Altus Air Force Base.
The gracious hand of God united Stanley E. Moore and Mary Frances Reece in a union that would last over 54 years.
Mr Moore was a member of the Elk's Club and the Altus First Baptist Church. Mr Moore was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Coral Huston; and by two brothers, Charles E. Moore, Jr. and Harley A. Moore.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances of the home; two daughters Mary Celia Wherry of McKinney, Texas and Cindy Harris and her husband Bill of Garland, Texas one brother, Gaston Moore and his wife Willie of Glendale, Arizona; two sisters, Catherine Musch of New Orleans, La. and Joyce Zieigler and her husband Charles of Metairie, La. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Nichole and Adam Harris of Garland, Texas and by a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.
