Obituary for Chester Russell Vernon
Mr. Chester Russell Vernon, age 78, of Sulphur, Oklahoma died Friday, May 17th, 1968at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at Tims Chapel, on Sunday, May 19, 1968, 2:00 P.M. with the Reverend Howard Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Altus City Cemetery under direction of Tims Funeral Home.
Mr. Vernon has lived in Sulphur for 14 years, having moved from Tahaka, TX. He was a retired farmer and rancher and was a member of the Methodist Church. He also belonged to the Masonic Lodge at Elmer.
He is survived by: his wife of the home; four sisters, Mrs. Charlie Harp of Norman, OK, Mrs. Lester Ellis of Post, TX, Mrs. Ben Frye of Anahaim, CA and Mrs. Ralph Motheral of Olustee, OK; two brothers, Ben Vernon of Lubbock and Hubert Vernon of Albuquerque, NM; two sisters-in-law Mrs. Johnny Hatton of Olustee and Mrs. Mattie Neal; two brothers-in-law, Bill Neal of Altus and Lloyd Neal of Sulphur.
