Obituary for Christine Ruth Scratchard

Christine Ruth (Lauderdale) Latham-Scratchard, 91, of Altus, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus after a short illness.
Christine was born August 6, 1920, in Altus to John Robert and Tabetha Ruth (Talbot) Lauderdale.
Chris, as she was known by her friends and MeMe to family, loved to dance and play with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to teach them High Tea and read wonderful stories to them. She participated in The Eastern Star and was a member of St. Paul"s Episcopal Church in Altus and St. Andrews in Lawton. Chris was also a member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority.
She was a wonderful mother to two sons and one daughter, Dean Allen Latham of Oklahoma City, Lonnie "Chip" Latham Jr. of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and daughter Karen Michelle Latham.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Karen Latham; and husbands, Lonnie Latham and Charles Scratchard.
She is survived by husband Frank Young of the home in Altus; one sister Mary Dillahunty of Tulsa; sons Dean and Chip; grandchildren Lonnie "Trey" Latham III and wife Melissa "Missy" of Columbus, Ohio, Loran Mayes and husband Rowdy of Altus, Kim Latham of Houston, and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous great friends. She will be missed by all knew and loved her.

Funeral Services for Christine Scratchard will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2011, at Lowell-Tims Chapel in Altus with Reverend David Player officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
