Obituary for Christopher Allen Ralph
Christopher Allen Ralph-Briscoe, 35, of Altus, passed away suddenly from a journey of medical complications on Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton with his loving parents, a family friend, along with caring hospital staff by his side.

Chris was born December 26, 1976, in Midland, Michigan. He lived in Atwater (Castle Air Force Base family housing) and Merced, California, through his elementary school years. He was involved in numerous church and school activities, along with Cub Scouts.

His middle and junior high school years were spent in Oscoda, (Wurtsmith Air Force Base), Michigan. It was there that his love for outdoor activities and sports began. He loved to camp, fish, and explore. He played many organized sports, such as baseball, football, and bowling.

Christopher attended high school in Altus, Oklahoma, and graduated with his class in 1996 where he was listed on the Principal's Honor Roll. During high school, Christopher remained active in his church and became an accomplished bowler. He was accredited with titles such as team captain and League President in the Young American Bowler's Association at Altus Air Force Base bowling alley. He received numerous awards and bowling scholarships. He also enjoyed mentoring and coaching the younger leagues.

After high school, he attended Southwest Technology Center, then he moved to California to pursue his love of cooking. Using his certificate earned from the Vo-Tech in Altus in restaurant management, he was a chef connoisseur and manager of a sports restaurant on campus at the University of California-Riverside. He resided in Riverside, California, for ten years. Along with his love for cooking, he was also a movie and sports aficionado. He earned the nickname "Buddah" from his closest friends there.

In 2010, his journey led him back to his family in Altus. Christopher embraced the serenity of the Altus community. While here, his compassion to help others brought him to be a steady volunteer at the Altus free health clinic. In the fall, Christopher planned to pursue his degree at Western Oklahoma State College.

During his brief time with us, he continually made lasting friendships, all of which he kept in contact through the years. Chris recently had a special friend, Melissa, by his side. Together they were able to fulfill some of his desires to enjoy life, such as baseball games, movies, and special outings.

Christopher is survived by his parents, William and Dawn Briscoe of Altus; his sister, Amanda Newman and husband Jeff, of Douglasville, Georgia; his brother, Richard Briscoe and wife Carrol of Bellevue, Nebraska; his paternal grandfather, David Ralph of Bay City, Michigan; his maternal grandmother, Joyce Litherland of Midland, Michigan; and his paternal grandmother, Georgette Briscoe of O'Fallen, Missouri. Also surviving Christopher are numerous aunts and uncles, including Sue and Havis Cassidy and Pam Amley of Florida, Kim Kanoza and Robbie and Nickole Richardson of Michigan, Marty and Pat Briscoe, Debbie and Bobbie Procaccini, Karen and Warren Fischer, Greg Briscoe, and Sandy and Terry Bishop, all of Missouri. In addition, he was survived by a plethora of cousins, some nieces and nephews, and a host of close friends including Medina (Downs) Franco, Eddie Collins, and Zach Martin, to name a few.

Christopher was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, William H. Briscoe, and his uncles, Gerald "Jerry" Briscoe and Dennis "Poncho" Briscoe, all of Missouri.

Even in our sadness, Christopher would want us to hold on to the thought that a life lived with so much love never really ends...it continues in the hearts of those who remember.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 18, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Memorial Services will be held 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Lowell-Tims Chapel with Pastor Alton Davis officiating. Please log on to the website below at 2:58 p.m. to view the live webcast of Christopher's memorial service.
