Obituary for Corine Bridges
Bridges

Corine Bridges age 71, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2005 at her home in Altus, Oklahoma.
She was born December 14, 1933 to Felix Williams and Alberta (Payne) Williams in Oktaha, Oklahoma.
Corine and Ulysees Bridges were united in marriage on March 5, 1954 in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. During her husband's Military Service, she received several awards for her outstanding support. She retired from AAFES after 30 years of service. She was a long time active member of the New Hope Baptist Church of Altus; She worked diligently and untirely with the youth department and Sunday School. She often said it was very rewarding to sow into the lives of young people. She possessed such a strong character throughout the community. She was an encourager to all she came in contact with, this is the reason she was known as "Grandmother" in Altus and vicinity. The joy of reading her bible molded her into being a great woman of God. Prov 31:28-31 states, her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her; Many women do noble things, but you surpass then all. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. SHE IS DEFINITELY OUR HERO.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one son, Jimmy Carl
Bridges.
Corine is lovingly survived by her husband Ulysees Bridges, of the home; seven children, Lynda Gilchrist and husband Jeff of Californis, Susan Rolen and husband Gaylon Sr. of Ennis, Texas, Bucket
Bridges and wife DeeDee of Altus, Oklahoma, Donna Lee and husband Darrell of Altus, Oklahoma, Anita Godsey and husband Edward of Wichita Falls, Texas, Tressie Arrington and husband Solomon of Altus, Oklahoma and Shantall Bridges of Amarillo, Texas.
