Courtney W. Miller, Sr., age 91, died Friday, April 21, 2017, at his home on the farm near Headrick, Oklahoma. Courtney was born on February 27, 1926, in Retrop, OK, to Oscar "O.J." and Gracie (Baker) Miller. He attended Ozark and Friendship Schools. On July 7, 1945, he married the love of his life, Patricia "Pat" Schnorrenberg. Together, they farmed and raised their four children east of Altus for over 64 years until Pat"s death in 2009. On January 1, 2011, Courtney married Betty Bradshaw.
Courtney began farming in 1942 and farmed his whole life. His favorite crop was cotton, but he also enjoyed farming wheat and alfalfa. He received the Legend of Agriculture Award in 2010. Courtney was one of Jehovah"s Witnesses and attended the Kingdom Hall in Altus.
Courtney is survived by his wife, Betty; his four children and their spouses, Judy Lowery and her husband, Sam of Lubbock, TX; Sonny Miller and his wife, Lorenda of Headrick, OK; Marilee Robbins and her husband, Larry of Altus, OK; Tim Miller and his wife, Jerri Lynn of Headrick, OK; his nine grandchildren, Kristy Booker, Krisenda Delgado, Sommer Robbins, Kortne Carrillo, Ryan Robbins, Lacy Pruitt, Laiken Miller, Boone Miller and Blaze Miller; ten great-grandchildren, Kaleigh Pipho, Kodee Booker, Silver Bentley, Rhett Robbins, Miller Levings, Rowdy Pruitt, Mason Miller, Suttin Robbins, Scout Levings and Blakley Miller and many other family and friends. He is also survived by 4 stepchildren, 8 step grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Courtney was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Gracie, and his wife, Pat.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at Lowell-Tims Chapel in Altus with Virgil Lowery officiating. Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home
