Obituary for Curran Roland Campbell
Curran Roland Campbell died at his home on Lake Conroe, Montgomery, Texas on August 30, 2004, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 10, 1919 at Frederick, Oklahoma, he was 85 years old when he went to be with his Lord.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Flynn Campbell; his son, John campbell of Perryton, Texas; his daughter, Karen Stafford of West Hills, California; four grandchildren, Kerry Keith, John Curran Campbell, Megan Williams and allison Rayles; three great-grandchildren, Catherine, Haley and Jacob; his sister, Eula Barnes of Altus, Oklahoma, and his step-brother, Harlan Bennett of Los Gatos, California, as well as other relatives and friends.
He was a member of Walden Community Church, the Montgomery Philosophical society, and a much loved and respected member of the community.
Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Franklin Campbell, his mother, Frances Polk Campbell Cox and two infant brothers. Before retiring Mr. Campbell was a Geologist and independent oil operator, having discovered 14 major commercial oil and gas fields. He served as a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologist. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Viewing and family visitation with friends will be held at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Friday, September 3, 2004 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Graveside services will be held at the Blair Cemetery, Saturday, September 4, 2004, at 2 p.m. with Rev George Lupton officiating. Lowell-Tims Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
