Obituary for Cyrus Lee Cavener
Mr. Cyrus Lee Cavener, age 78, a long time resident of Harmon and Jackson Counties, passed away Saturday, June 27th, 1970 at 1:35 A.M., at his home in Eldorado.
Funeral services will be at the First Baptist Church in Eldorado at 2:30 P.M., Monday, June 29, 1970, with the Reverend Ronald Killingsworth officiating and assisted by the Reverend Walter Knox. Burial will be in Eldorado Cemetery under direction of Lowell Funeral Home.
Mr. Cavener was born January 24th, 1892 in McKinney, Texas. He was a retired farmer of the Eldorado area. He was married to the former Dollie Richardson, who survives him, in Harmon County, Oklahoma on March 17, 1920 by the Reverend Foster Cole. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eldorado and had served as deacon for many years. Mr. Cavener is also a Veteran of World War I. He had suffered several strokes and heart attacks in the past two years.
Survivors include: his wife, Dollie of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Jolene Richeson of Blair; two brothers, Mr. H.H. Cavener of Sayre, OK and Mr. Ernest Cavener of Stratford, OK; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survive.
